If you are interested in international relations and want to learn more about the politics and processes of the United Nations, becoming a member of the MUNBonn delegation provides you with the great opportunity to practice the role of a diplomat at the United Nations.
MUNBonn is looking for a group of motivated students who want to attend the National Model United Nations 2011 in New York as part of the MUNBonn delegation. For the preparation a four-hour weekly seminar will be held during the winter semester 2010/11; it will deal with country-specific positions in the UN, the functioning of the UN and international relations. There will also be an introduction to negotiation strategies, presentation techniques etc. The language of instruction will be English. Furthermore there will be several preparatory simulations with other student groups from Germany and Europe during the winter semester. The attendance of the seminar and the preparatory simulations is obligatory. Requirements for the attendance are high motivation and proper English skills. Basic knowledge about the UN is preferable, but not required.
As the delegation is limited, the only way to get into the program is to apply. To apply write a CV and a letter of motivation in English and send it to thomas.weiler@uni-bonn.de
Application deadline is 31 August 2010!
You will then be invited to a short interview. The exact date will be announced in time. For those of you who you might be prevented from keeping the first appointment, don't worry, there will be an alternate date, as well.
